Classic compilation… – 80%

This rather massive presentation of Exhumed’s special brand of ultra-extreme grindgore is quite the feast. Classic death metal production, screaming vocals coming from every angle, lyrics about the most gruesome of the gruesome…these boys know, and have known the score for quite some time now. Very rarely do compilations aim to please beyond giving you just enough to fool the casual fan into wasting his money, but this drags so many strange cuts into the mix that one has no choice but to marvel at the concept as a whole. “Platters of Splatter”? Indeed…indeed.
With so many tracks to choose from, it’s nearly impossible to list a set of favorites. Whomever decided to compile this filthy mess did a great job as everything I had ever wanted from the band seemed to make it on this compilation in one form or another. From the brutal ones to the messy ones to the speedy ones…it’s all here. For fans of the band…and especially newcomers…I cannot suggest this compilation enough!
Exhumed are a “love it or hate it” kind of band – but this compilation proves that no matter what side you’re on…nobody does what Exhumed does like they do it.
