Damn, this is a fun album and i’m glad I stumbled upon the CD. 70s hard rock is something that I can confidently say I don’t give two shits about, but there’s something about Jailbreak that makes me very tingly in that special place.The harder songs will probably be what gets a lot of dudes excited, Warrior goes respectably hard (and the choir-ish? breakdown is light years ahead of its’ time), the title track and Emerald – all very engaging tunes somewhere in that very grey hard rock/heavy metal continuum. Bit of early Black Sabbath, lots and lots and lots and lots of Hendrix, filtered through a bunch of very celtic scales. But personally it’s the bouncier tunes, Angel of the Coast, Romeo, The Boys et al that I find more exciting.
